Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music to the Internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole had her submit her tracks to the Dreamville Team later in the year as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In the month of October, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was also released on September 5th. Then, in November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On the 13th of November two singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over three million times over the first seven days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
