Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she won the Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the only daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a domestic worker. Her childhood was spent within a household with four other brothers. The idea of becoming a court reporter during the early years of her life, however she began modelling in high school and eventually gaining commercials when she moved from New York. Her first role acting was when she was a young, innocent girl in the show All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actress who has been involved in numerous television shows, and dramas. Like her career however, her private life has not been happy or successful. There were two failed marriages, and has struggled with addiction issues. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the sole child she had.
